Look Up Your Districts
The redistricting for the State Senate Districts is described by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) in 2011 and 2021 with:

  • Even numbered Senate Districts changed with the 2024 election cycle into the 2021 Certified Senate districts.
  • Odd numbered Senate Districts will change to the 2021 Certified districts with the 2024 election cycle.
The State Senate has a staggered election cycle with half of the districts one cycle, and 2 years later the other half runs. This is split by odd and even district numbers.

  • The first election after redistricting was 2022. This election was for the “even” numbered Senate districts in the newly redistricted districts. These districts became active after a member was elected and sworn in December 2022.
  • The odd numbered districts remain the same as elected in 2020 with the 2011 redistricted districts. The 2024 election cycle the odd numbered districts will use the new 2021 redistricted districts. These districts became active after a member was elected and sworn in December 2024.
For the 2023-24 (current) legislative session we have 20 "old", from the 2011 redistricting, odd numbered districts and 20 "new", from the 2021 redistricting, even numbered districts.
